This past weekend I was lucky enough to be able to head up to Sun Valley for their annual film festival. This year's festival was particularly special because a film my brother worked on as the Director of Photography was playing. His film called Playing with the Devil was great and it was so exciting to see his name up on the big screen! The festival was great too. For those of you who have been to or read my posts about the Sundance Film Festival, you know that I love movies and love film festivals. This one is smaller than Sundance, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It was laid back, no lines to wait in and easy to get from place to place. Sundance on the other had requires a plan of action and a little tenacity to conquer. Tickets for films at Sun Valley were only $10, which isn't bad at all. They were also serving beer, wine and cocktails in the lobby of the theater which I thought was pretty cool. In addition to the films, they also have an event each year called Coffee Talks where they serve coffee and light breakfast with a keynote speaker. I attended last year's coffee talk with Jody Foster which was really cool. This year's keynote was Kevin Smith AKA Silent Bob. I would really encourage anyone who can make it up for next year's festival to give it try. It's a chance to see independent movies that you would otherwise not have a chance to see. It supports independent film makers and artists achieve their dreams and it's a lot of fun= win win win. If you are interested in going next year, be sure to check out the festival website. They partnered with local lodging to offer discounts on rooms and ski packages for those of you who would also like to hit the slopes. Have a great week everybody! |

Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way. LIZHello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk! Archives
